Exploring the UAE's Native Plants
Exploring the UAE’s Native Plants
Join us for the first in a series of botanical field trips exploring the UAE’s landscapes and the plants that inhabit them.
Guided by field experts Ajmal and Abdullah, alongside hikma rituals herbalists Shereen and Mahdiah, we’ll venture into the mountains for a leisurely walk, discovering native plants, their traditional uses, medicinal properties and ecological significance.
Along the way, we’ll learn to identify plants in their natural habitats, observe their relationships with the surrounding landscape and explore botanical knowledge passed down through generations.
Following our walk, we’ll gather for herbal infusions and refreshments before exploring medicinal herbal blending with Shereen and Mahdiah. Each participant will create their own herbal blend to take home, with guidance on its uses and preparation.
An invitation to slow down, observe and deepen our relationship with the natural world.
